A mudroom is a drop zone by the back door or the door in from the garage: bench seating to take shoes off, hooks for coats and bags, cubbies for each member of the family and closed cupboards for sports gear, school bags and the dog lead. It keeps the mess at the entry instead of spreading through the house.
A mudroom does not need its own room. We often build one into a wide hallway, an entry or alongside the laundry. It is built to take daily punishment, in hard-wearing finishes that wipe clean, made in our Hindmarsh workshop and installed by our own team.

No. Most of the mudrooms we design are built into an entry, a wide hallway or one wall of the laundry. All you need is a wall near the door you use most.
